Who loves Jack?

This is one of our favorite things to say when we are with other family...'Who loves Jack?' He gets such a kick out of watching us gush over him..not to spoil him, but to show him he's loved. What greater gift can you give your child than to show him how loved and cherished his is...by his parents..his family...and above all his heavenly Father. As we look to move to Romania for a short time, we are reminded daily that we will be with many children who don't know that love...that permanent love that doesn't fade no matter how you act or talk...the kind of unconditional love that surpasses understanding. We pray that Jack will always know he is loved and that we can bring that sweetness to the kids in Romania.

A lunch date

Today Jack and I went to lunch with some of Jeff's sweet family...including cousin Hannah. She is such a little mama and loved getting to play with 'baby Jack Edgar.' It was such a joy to get to see them interact. We are very blessed to have such a loving family!

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...or for Valentine's Day!

We have teeth! Four of them actually! He has been drooling like a champ since he was two months old and it finally paid off. The past two weeks he has been working really hard and the 4th one made it's debut on Valentine's Day. What a sweet treat! They are hard to see unless we pull his gums back, which makes a really funny face on him, but they are there! Beware if you stick your finger in his mouth...he will bite! ;)

Choo Choo!

Yaya and I took Jack to ride the train at the outlet mall and he loved it! He sat for about 2 seconds then wanted to hop up to reach the metal bar and 'drive.' What a little man! He giggled the whole time it moved. I suppose this is a tiny glimpse into our future of loving plains, trains and automobiles!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This was my first Valentine's to have my two sweethearts! We spent the weekend together with our families, making Valentines, cooking dinner, laughing, playing and just relaxing. Jeff got a cold, but it didn't seem to matter at all. I am the luckiest girl in the world!

Play time

Sweet Jack, you are such a delight. I love you at this age. It just keeps getting better and better. Each day you bring us new smiles, funny faces, silly squeals...you are checking out the world around you and yet you are still our little one. You are a true gift and you make our lives extra sweet! I love watching you grab new things - from the couch pillows, your feet, new toys, to the kitchen spoons...it is fun to see the world through your eyes. I know that your first two teeth are about to appear and you are on the verge of crawling. But right now, I cherish your immobility and easy going spirit! I love you!

6 Months!

Jack was six months on January 30, 2009. Time flies when you're having fun! We took Jack in to get 'professional' pictures taken, but he was teething so I decided to take a few on our bed like we've done in the past...just in case the teeth show up before the studio picture time! I did this the first three months, witht he same blankets. It is neat to see how much he has grown and how he is able sit by himself - this time with out the help of the boppy and pillows! His little personality is blooming! The doctor siad you now weigh 19lbs 1oz and you're 28inches long! You are just perfect!!

A quilt Aunt Mary made him for Christmas with all the family names - he loves it!

Of course we had to throw Rev in there, too!

The McDonnell Boys

Jeff loves spending time with his son - what a treasure that is! He is a wonderful daddy. Here are a few snapshots from January...

*hmmm...I think dad put on Jack's pants before his onesie!

children a reward from Him..."

January 2009

This January was so wonderful knowing that I was now home with Jack and I didn't have to return to work! We loved having Jeff home for 2 weeks in December, even if we only had one day together just the three of us! One of the biggest treats was our 'snow day.' Jeff got to come home early on a Tuesday and stay home with us on Wednesday. This is one of our goofy pics from that fun, lazy day. I am blessed with such fun boys in my life - full of laughter and goofy smiles!
